When is macOS Tahoe coming out?

Apple is getting ready to roll out its next major macOS update — macOS Tahoe. Wondering when macOS Tahoe is coming out and how you can get it first? Let’s check when you can expect the developer beta, the public beta, and the official release.

macOS Tahoe developer beta release date

macOS Tahoe was unveiled at WWDC 2025 in June and is now available to developers who want to explore fresh updates, test out new features, and get their apps ready before the big launch.

Note: the developer beta can be buggy and sometimes includes unpolished features that may change later — so it’s best suited for developers and adventurous testers who don’t mind a few surprises.

macOS Tahoe public beta release date

Not a developer but curious to try the new macOS early? You can join Apple’s public beta program, which usually starts a few weeks after the developer version, so expect it to roll out in July 2025. For comparison, last year’s macOS Sequoia public beta began on July 15.

Official release date

If you’d rather skip the betas and wait for the polished version, you won’t have to wait long. Due to Apple's usual schedule, macOS Tahoe should arrive in late September or early October 2025.

Now you know when macOS Tahoe is coming out. No matter when you update, new features are just around the corner for your Mac.
